In memory of Charles Potter QC
It is with great sadness that Chambers announce the death of Charles Potter QC.
Charles died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday 8th March 2008.
With Hubert Monroe, Charles wrote the first book on tax planning. He was a brilliant advocate, regularly appearing in the House of Lords for taxpayers and Inland Revenue alike. He also acted as a General and Special Commissioner and VAT Tribunal Chairman, adjudicating on whether a Jaffa Cake is a cake or biscuit for example. Finally, he was also a great supporter of younger members of Chambers.
Details of his memorial service will follow.
